Visual reflections allow the eye to dance around the painting while following the distorted shapes and colours in a relaxing and therapeutic manner. I love the way shapes and light are abstracted by the surface in which they are reflected…whether it be glass, water, or some other glossy material. Reflection of light occurs when the waves encounter a surface or other boundary that does not absorb the energy of the radiation and bounces the waves away from the surface. Reflections can create beautiful designs, ranging from repetitive patterns such as ripples in water to an almost exact mirror image of the objects themselves.
